Fried-chicken chain Bojangles is opening first in these 3 North Texas cities

Southern fried chicken and biscuits chain Bojangles is moving into Texas.

As many as 18 of its fast-food restaurants are expected to open in Dallas-Fort Worth, starting in the first half of 2022. Fifteen will be corporately-owned, and three will be franchises.

The first restaurants in D-FW will be in Garland, Richardson and Mesquite.

The North Carolina company was founded in 1977 and is known for its Southern fare like bone-in fried chicken, dirty rice, sweet tea and all-day breakfast including Cajun chicken biscuits and biscuits and cream gravy.

Sales at bars and restaurants surged in May for the third month in a row to push total receipts to an all-time high of $67.3 billion, new government figures show.
